Here's an interesting article on using roll-over images in text links, to work with IE in particular:

Of course, you *don't* need rollover buttons to work with text links - I combined a couple of different CSS navigation menus into a single one on http://www.comparative-religion.com that makes text links look just a little more ambitious - it's all just cell properties.

I get told that css is important but I know almost nothing about it. Do you have any good sites I can learn more about it from? you had links on flash and programming but can we have css as well, thanks?

Good call - I'll chase down some good CSS tutorials and example pages. I've been using a few as guides and templates already. Smiley

One of the best illustrations of CSS rollovers using images can be found here:
http://wellstyled.com/css-nopreload-rollovers.html
Two excellent examples show just how easy it can be to implement.

Thank you so much for that site.  I am just getting into designing with CSS and have mastered the overline, underline thing, but not graphic rollover effect. Smiley

I'll be even busier now!

I have this rollover script that might prove useful to some users hopefully.

Thank you so much for sharing that with us. It is always helpful to have more than one article to refer to for various functions...the more references, the better.
