With all those flashy design, and futuristic coding style on websites all over these days, I wonder the traditional plain looking "click here" button is still useful? It is very often that I come across these button design had taken a new lift and there are flash, striking color...etc.

Wouldn't these "shocking" design deter the potential visitors? or it would grab their attention further and increase the sales conversion? What's your experience in this?

I personally don't like flashy things on websites. I find it distracting. It reminds me of trying to find the stars at night in Vegas - pointless.

I also do not like flashing or moving things on a website.  It does appear to me like Vegas -- all flash and glam and no substance.  That's the impression I get.

I would not, however, have a plain button that says "Click Here."  I tend to use text links more often anyway.

Oh ya! I left out the "Text Link" option indeed! I think text link would be good as genuine and interested visitor will likely to click on it, and make their purchase! This will help in my sales conversion.

Thanks for your kind enlightenment.

If you type "Click Here" on google, guess what you'll find on the first position? I'll tell you: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Nice, isn't it?

Usually Click Here is good if you want to convince people to take action and download something - a software, an ebook, etc. And you should write: Click Here to Download the eBook , etc

Do not use Click Here alone and certainly not as a button. You can always place strategic keywords in your text links onside. And that's ethical SEO.

I also do not like moving buttons, but when the website has a lot of content, it may be hard to find the right button--in that case, the "Click Here" button will be useful. For example, let's say you were on this page: http://www.nba.com/blazers/ looking for a place to download their wallpapers. It'd be pretty hard to find the link, if it was a tiny text.

OK. I've checked it out, but couldn't find the "click here" button you mentioned. Sad

Thanks Pamil for enlightening me about this!! Placing strategy keyword could really help to entice my visitors to visit the pages I wanted them to ! Cheesy This is especially helpful to build up my subscriber's base!

Well, by having "Click here to Receive Ebook!",  if my visitors would like to receive more information on something I am offering, they are invited to sign-up and thus expand my base!
