Hi everyone. I bet you guys and gals already known the traffic potential of those social networking sites are able to bring to your site. Giant sites like technorati, digg, myspace..etc are drawing hugh portion of traffic on internet world. So, I am in search of some "effective" way to get some traffic from there. Anyone could give some guide?

Well, I am newbie trying to learn as I journey into this area. Cheesy Thanks in advance.

Hi taiarain. Any luck so far?? Today I come across some myspace account up for sale in ebay. These accounts has more than 50k to 100k of friends in their list...and the price are not cheap!

So I wonder, is it really worth the money spend if I were to buy those accounts and get my site "market" thru them?? Anyone has experience in this strategy?

I'm really not moving anywhere with this yet. With the holiday and extended family visiting last week, I did little to further my business and now have some catching up to do.

Keep in mind that if you are looking for business networking, you might look into business networking sites and not social networking sites.  MySpace's crowd tends to be younger and they might fit some companies but for the most part, most are there to socialize / meet

I can not understand how you work one of these sites in order to get business leads or advertise.  It might stem from the fact that I am socially inept. Sad

I prefer forums as social/business networking and advertising mediums.

I think it really depends on what your site is about and whether social traffic would be apropriate for it. Myspace groups that are relevant to your content might be a good marketing tool, but it really does depend on your niche.

Well, I've never really looked that hard at MySpace or any of the others.  From my understanding, you get your own profile page where you can put information up, and there is a forum I know.  How can this help you, other than giving you another link back to your sites?

Well you never know who you might run into on that site, etc.  It is sort of like 6 degrees - you know someone who knows someone who knows someone... And then if that someone needs something in which you are really good at, he / she might contact you for help.

Well, so I suppose it is just a matter of getting your site - and your reputation - out there.  It might be quicker to build a personal & business reputation on one of these networking sites.  People who are attracted to the person (I'm not talking physically here - though having an attractive person advertising your site wouldn't hurt I guess), are more apt to be attracted to the business they are offering.

good point, corey bryant.  i was surprised to know that some people are actually  earning from sellling their myspace accounts, that is, of course, if other people are actually buying them.  if anyone here finds success in  marketing their website or business in myspace, please do share your experience with us.

I have a myspace. I mainly use it to keep in contact with people I knew when I was younger. I do not discuss my employer on the site. I do not feel comfortable doing so.

I agree..and you have to beware of myspace because I have gotten a lot of junk mail after being on there.
