Who is it and how satisfied are you with the service?

Well, when I just started my online journey, I was using free hosting service. After which I sign-up for a shared hosting with StartLogic. Their uptime was good. Just that there are quite some limitation eg limit of domains that can be hosted, their add-on domain option is available but it cost some money.

Then I get a vps for myself to enjoy a greater flexibility. In the early stage, the server works very well and I was happy. But as time goes by, my usage get heavier each days and the server resources were often used up o the max!

So now I am shopping for a bigger server!! Cheesy

I've been using GoDaddy and I'm pretty happy with them so far. They are kind of pushy on the sell (all about marketing), but they are incredibly helpful and glad to answer any questions.

1und1 (German for 1and1). They are OK. Gread customer service, not so user friendly though.

I'm sorry to hear that they're not user friendly. I really like the service from GoDaddy.

We use own own hosting - in the long run it is cheaper.  Costs some to get it set up but we have a bit more control over everything.

I use Yahoo for my basic site, blogger for my blog, and I'm in the process of getting more serious but first I have to learn all I can about the process. I want to do things right the first time.

It seems like GoDaddy is being doing a very good job lately; however, it's still a good thing that no one has the monopoly yet.

Thanks for the information. This is really interesting. I had never heard of some of these hosts before.
