Hi everyone, I have been looking for ways to increase traffic for my site, especially targeted traffic which would lead to high conversion. I learn that forum posting is a good way to attract some traffic. But what about the actual conversion rate? Huh

Has anyone be able to enjoy good conversion for traffic from forum posting?

I don't know. Does a forum make sense for your business?

Good point, taia!
For Illigent: I have some friends that do this and it work pretty could. cca 15% of their traffic comes from their own forums each day. So give it a try - but it will take long till you really get things going.

emm..thanks for the advise. At the moment I using forum as a support platform for my members using my service. Not much posts been made by members or even "guest". Most of the time I feels like talking to my ownself Cry

However, from my webstats, I know that the visitors are browsing the topics posted by me, and they actually spend time reading the tutorial section...just that their fingers are little "tired' to start typing Cheesy

Then it could work for you. In my business, building a forum on my site isn't likely to do me any good.

Yes Taia, you've got a point. I mean - it applies to my business as well. I am considering hosting a blog on my site, rather than a forum.

A blog is a future possibility for me, but a forum would do me no good.

Do you mean posting on your own forum or posting with signature links on other forums that pertain to your websites topic or theme?
I got the impression that you were speaking of the latter.

I think posting on other forums with your link in your signature is a great way to get targetted traffic to your site.  I do this, and have increased my traffic quite a bit with no other marketing methods.  Right now, I get about 35% of my website traffic from different forums that I post on.

thanks for that info.  i guess i must bring this topic up to my sister so that she'll increase traffic in her website.  i have to think of topics, then, for the forum since i know she'll turn to me to whip up some good topics related to her business.

Blogs would be good to add. What about having a diverse group posting?
